Website Performance Reports: Visibility, Link Popularity and Ranking

At the end of the day, when it comes to website marketing, it is traffic levels that count.

However, a number of other pieces of “performance data” regarding your website may be of interest and can also highlight the areas that need improving in order to obtain further increases in web traffic.

There are three sets of peformance data that are worth knowing and that we can help you with:

a) Visibility: the number of indexed pages that have been indexed by different search engines: For example, if your website contains 10 pages but Altavista has only indexed 6 of these, then you need to let Altavista know about the other 4 pages - otherwise you may be missing out on people searching for content relating on those 4 pages!

b) Link Popularity: the number of incoming links that search engines are crediting you with. Basically, the more incoming links the better. If you know that 10 other websites link to your website, but Google only knows about 6 of these links, then your website is likely to rank higher once Google is aware of those extra 4 incoming links to your site!

c) Ranking: while your website ranking doesn’t guarantee traffic, if your keyword phrases (phrases that relate to your site and for which you want to rank highly) do not appear in the top 30 results of search engines, then it doesn’t really matter where your site ranks - people aren’t going to visit it as they just don’t look beyond the top 30 results (and most only look at the first page of results)! If you know which keyphrases rank poorly on search engines, you can do something about it and optimise your site to increase the rankings for those keyword phrases.

Performance Report

Want to know how visible your website is on the top search engines? Need to know what your link popularity is? How are you ranking for your essential keyphrases?

Our Performance Report will provide you with the answers and is part of our Essential Starter Package. Alternatively, it is available on its own. See our Products Page for more details.

Our Website Performance Report will give you answers to your website’s:

a) search engine visibility: the number of pages that are indexed by Google, MSN, Yahoo, Altavista, Alltheweb and Ask.

b) search engine link popularity: the number of incoming links that have been credited to your website by Google, MSN, Yahoo, Altavista, Alltheweb and Ask.

c) search engine ranking: your Top 30 rankings for 5 keyphrases (eg. “glasgow electrician”) that you can select yourself (otherwise we will choose appropriate keyphrases for your website). Again, this will be done for a selection of the most important Search Engines.

Once you know how your website is performing on the top search engines, you will become aware of areas where performance can be improved, and can take appropriate action.
